Geneva, OH -On Saturday and Sunday, the 22nd and 23rd, the Lodge and Conference Center at Geneva-on-the-Lake will host the first Journey Through Ashtabula County from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
The list of exhibitors has been finalized, booth spaces are being set up and the lodge will transform into a place where education, businesses, agriculture, healthcare and tourism will coexist to inform Ashtabula County, what we are all about. The Ashtabula County Commissioners will be giving a welcoming speech at the ribbon cutting on Saturday at 1:00pm.
Taking the Journey Through Ashtabula County will allow interaction between the organization and the citizens it servers. All exhibitors will have information on display in the main ballroom, along with personnel to answer any questions that may come up.
Manufacturers have been contributing to the Made-In-Ashtabula County display. In the Harbor Room, viewers will find things that were made by: Plastpro, WEK Industries, A. Louis Supply, Plasticolors, General Aluminum, Continental Structural Plastics, Independent Can, Iten Industries, Molded Fiber Glass, Pro-Gram Plastics and Spring Team. Each company item will have an index card to tell viewers how the products are used. This room will be available both days of the event. Make sure if you come to the lodge, to check out that room, as you may just learn a thing or two.
Having the Made-in- Ashtabula County display in the same room as the museums is a great way to see the economic developments that have been made in the County. History is a major part of people's lives; younger generations will be able to see what Ashtabula County used to look like. Participating museums include: Victorian Perambulator, Jennie Munger, Finnish Museum, Hubbard House, Jefferson Depot Village, AC & J Scenic Line, Ashtabula Marine Museum, Conneaut History, Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Display and the Antique Engine Club. Taking the time to learn about your community and those that surround will make you feel pride in living in Ashtabula County.
Family activities have been arranged, so that Journey Though Ashtabula County will truly be about creating pride and awareness in Ashtabula County, for Ashtabula County residents.
A special thank you goes out to the sponsors of our event. Ashtabula County Joint Vocational School Workforce Development Center, Job Source a member of Geauga Ashtabula Portage Partnership, Gazette Newspapers, Growth Partnership for Ashtabula County, Lodge and Conference Center at Geneva-on-the-Lake, Mega- Byte Computer Service LLC, Ohio Wine Producers and the Star Beacon.
