What: A Journey Through Ashtabula County!

When: Sept. 22 and Sept. 23, 1-6 p.m.

Where: The Lodge and Conference Center at Geneva on the Lake.

Why: Create awareness and build pride among Ashtabula County residents by showcasing the many assets of our county.

Who's Responsible: Journey organizers include-Andover Chamber of Commerce, Ashtabula Area Chamber of Commerce, Ashtabula County Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Ashtabula County Farm Bureau, Ashtabula County Soil and Water Conservation District, Conneaut Chamber of Commerce, Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce, Growth Partnership For Ashtabula County, Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, the Lodge and Conference Center, the Ohio State Extension Service and the Ohio Wine Producers Association.

Our Sponsors: Current Journey sponsors include---The Lodge and Conference Center, Gazette Newspapers, The Star Beacon, Mega-Byte Computer Service LLC, Ashtabula Surgery Center, and the Ashtabula County Joint Vocational School Workforce Development Department.

Stuff To Do: Plenty of activities will be offered in conjunction with the event. Activities include:

Farmer's Market located in tent outside of lodge. Tours of the Springer Dairy Farm. Red Cross Blood Drive, scheduled for Sept. 23. Pumpkin decorating/carving contest. Displays from county museums. A "Made In Ashtabula County" exhibit. Blood pressure screenings. The chance to enjoy "home grown" food, served inside the lodge. More activities and/or events are in the works.

Cost To Participate: Event sponsors still are needed. Sponsorship is priced at $500. Business exhibitors can secure space for $75. Those participating in the Farmer's Market or exhibiting animals will pay $20

Admission: Those taking "the Journey" will not pay an admission price. Everyone attending will be entered in a drawing for Ashtabula County prizes.
